Book Nerd

I love to read. And I read, a lot.

I mean for several hours almost every night. Once the hubby and Ryan are down for the night I pull the kindle up on my phone and get lost in a new reality.

The genres I like are kinda weird though. Not the books themselves, but I guess the difference in books I love to read.

I love reading something in a first person account. Someone who has been through something and has gone on to write about it.

Or I love reading chick it. Something that is light and fluffy and doesn't take much to read.

Sometimes I will venture out of those genres, but not that often.

I just finished three books in the chick lit genre that I am going to review on the blog in May.

But until then I will share with you some of my other favorite books.

Some of my favorite memoirs/first person account books -

The End of Normal - a book by Bernie Madoff's daughter in law

No One would Listen - a story told by the man who uncovered the Madoff scam

The Madoff Chronicles - about Bernie Madoff

Going Clear - a book about Scientology that was turned into a HBO documentary

Agent Storm - a story about a man who joined al Qaeda and the CIA

Dear Leader - a story about North Korea

Going Down Together - a story about Bonnie and Clyde

Cycle of Lies - a book about Lance Armstrong

A House in the Sky - kidnapping in Somalia

Somewhere Inside - Laura Ling's book about being held in North Korea

Banished - being raised and escaping the Westboro Baptist Church

The Nazi Officer's Wife - a story of a Jewish woman and the Holocaust

In the Land of Invisible Women - a story of a female doctor in the Saudi Kingdom

Some of my favorite chick lit books -

The Star Attraction - This book was written by Alison Sweeney (yes, from the Biggest Loser) and it made me fall in love with her. She has a couple more books that I also highly recommend.

Scared Scriptless - Alison Sweeney

Opportunity Knocks - Alison Sweeney

There's Cake in My Future - Kim Gruenenfelder

I've Got Your Number - Sophie Kinsella

There's a (Slight) Change I Might Be Going to Hell - Laurie Notoro (Crazy title and cover but one of my favorite favorite FAVORITE books!)

Forget About It - Caprice Crane

Stupid and Contagious - Caprice Crane
